My child is stealing food from other kids, is this situation normal?

My son has a weight problem and I feel I have no control once he leaves the house. He steals other kids' food at school and when he's at grandma's house it's like an all-you-can-eat buffet. My mom has no control over him and I'm considering keeping him at home 24/7 with home schooling. We already installed locks on the refridgerator and pantry

He obviously has a health and or mental condition. Get him some help. BTW If you mother has "no control over him" then she should not be watching him.

You should start shifting to a healthier lifestyle. Depending on his age if he grows up with it he will carry it out when he is older.

locking him in the house all day and keeping him from people won't help.also he will resent you.He will find hos hos somehow.I have been big most of my life which is weird because neither one of my parents or siblings are.He might be severely vitamin deficient like I was even though I was obese.

Try not to keep junk food in stock if he can get into it. If he's going to break into food only hold healthy food and vegatables. He either eats healthy or doesn't eat at all. And as for school talk to the principle. Maybe your teacher can arrange a personal lunch? And.. How does he steal food exactly from kids and the house if there is a lock?
