My brother is always angry. is it normal

As long as I can remember my brother has always had anger issues and I've been the calm one. Our mom is bipolar and our dad passed away so that might have something to do with it. He is home from failing at finding a job( he is 22,I'm 18) and will be here til Christmas. So far all he has done is bitch since hes been home. He criticizes my grandma, my mom and I and calls out all our faults. He said that he'd kill me after I asked for the keys because he believes that my grandmas car rightfully deserves to be his. He never looks happy. It's always tense between us when I'm out of my room and by him. Whenever I'm by him he just looks at me pissed off like "what the f*ck are you doing?" even though I'm just walking by. He thinks he is better than all of us but has nothing to back it up. He always asks me questions and says why do you always lie. But I'm really not lying. He says he wants us to be friends again like when we were younger but he can't because I'm a liar(even though I don't lie). Thats another thing. I want us to be close again but it just seems like whenever hes by me he just stares at me and whenever he talks its put downs or negative shit. Whenever we try to hangout, like going to a movie, he seems mad the whole way there and I'm just sitting there content wondering what the hells wrong with him. THen usually the only time hell talk is when he curses at someone driving or yelling at me for making us a minute late for a movie.
