My brother has a disability, and i feel guilty for hating him for it.

So my brother has autism. That makes it quite difficult to be around him. I love him really, it's just having him around really annoys me and is grinding away at me to the point where I almost hate him. I never let it show or treat him with any less affection or care. But that fact that I dislike him for being difficult makes me feel really guilty, especially because it's something beyond his controll or something he can do anything about, or even be blamed for.

its normal its called empathy fatigue, after dealing with very emotional stuff long enough people literally start loosing their ability to care, It's a self defense mechanism to keep you from going crazy.
I once read an article about how a lot of lawyers get it, I was reading where they interviewed a divorce lawyer and he talked about a time when his client was crying his eyes out next to him because the judge awarded custody of his kids to his wife and he lost his house to her, but he said he was only thinking about how bad he wanted the judge to let them leave so he could get a soda.

"Empathy Fatigue" eh? Good catch phrase.
All the ones I thought of had 4-letter words in them.
I like it. I'm gonna' use it to explain all my bad habits. :-)

Is he very low-spectrum, or just spoiled? A lot of people think Autism is an excuse to let their kids to act like jerks, for fear of it being "politically incorrect" to discipline them. You could try to help improve his behaviors if possible.

You're normal. I have an institutionalized sibling that I hate.

If you treat him well it's ok and feeling guilty is pointless

OP can't help how h/she feels and living with someone with a disability can be very trying. What do you suggest h/she should do other than continue to treat the brother well?

He should give his brother a good smack around the head every now and then ! That ought to bend him into shape
