My brother disgusts me

My brother is 15, and showers about once a week. I don't know about you, but that's gross to me. He doesn't wash his hands, flush the toilet (ever) and he doesn't change out of his sweats and a tshirt. Also he walks around barefoot ALL the time, which I can't stand. He doesn't wash his face either, I'm just appalled. His room is downright a pig sty. He had substance issues for a while, and I think he's over that. And when I said he doesn't shower, he doesn't use deodorant either. What should I do?

    Just realize that while you have to deal with his issues, your brother isn't your problem. Bad hygiene catches up to you eventually, but that's pretty standard for a 15 year old. If he's the understanding type, you can try to just talk to him about it. You can't force him to have cleaner habits though, so just avoid the smelly environment or work on counters (like cracking a window.)

      I'm trying not to bother you, but what your sister said is haunting me. I think both of us will die alone unloved with little to no sex no matter what we do. *teeth chattering*

    My brother's really similar. It's f*cking rank. It doesn't necessarily make me hate his guts though, I think you're overreacting slightly, but then again I don't know what scale of disgust your brother's on. :P

    At 15, he's a hormonal and social nightmare. Very much "Do what I want and nobody can tell me what to do" mentality, including hygiene and habits like flushing the toilet. If you offer help or slam him for it, he'll only get worse. Has to figure this out for himself, usually when he meets a girl he likes. Then the showers will happen, body sprays, and presenting himself better.
