My boyfriend says he loves me but he says he cannot promise anything because he is not sure about the future. He always says he wants to get professionally settled after that only he can think of anything and I am under pressure to get married from my home but honestly I really don't want to get married and take a responsibility I too need a career and reach a position
the thing is I feel insecure now because he always says he cant promise anything I understand he needs time but everything that's going on around me is making me crazy
Can you guys suggests something? Does situations like this occur ?

    First of all: Don't marry him because your family wants you to. If you marry him it should be because you and your boyfriend want that, and you can take all the time you need.

    I'm a bit similar to your boyfriend. My girl and I are both at university and neither of us knows what we'll do after. What if she wants to move to another country or something? It's really hard to commit to someone forever when you have no idea where you're going yet.
    If he sais he can't promise anything he's being honest, even if it's not very romantic. And although it's not ideal; It's still better than someone who will promise you the world and not mean it.

    How long have you guys known each other?

      Almost 2 years i love him he says that too but we both doesn't want a marriage now only my family pressure is the prob

        Two years is not that long. A friend of mine is getting married at 20 years old, which is really young if you ask me, but even she was with her boyfriend for 5 years. Why does your family want you to get married so much? If 91 is your year of birth, you're 25, so it's not like your clock is running out or anything. My oncle married his wive when they both were 40, and now they got two cute little daughters.
        The one thing you are too old for now is letting your parents tell you what to do. You're a grown woman and you make your own life choices.

    I'm very career-oriented and I too have felt I need to get "professionally settled" before I could commit to any girl.

    Or so I thought. I recently realized that when I said the above to someone it was because I couldn't really see myself ending up with that person. Not implying your bf is the exact same way but just a thought

    Sounds like he's not really into it and maybe wants to have his cake and eat it too?

    I know because I said exactly the same thing to a partner years ago! My real reason was because I could not really see a future with her (she already had 2 children and did not want any more). I should have got out earlier it would've been fairer to both of us.

    But the sex was too good... and I stayed (too long) for that reason.

    Alot of guys have difficulty commiting but even so you shouldn't get married becos your family is pressuring you thats a terrible reason to make a life decision.

    A man who doesn't put himself and his goals ahead of his woman will quickly lose his woman's love. He's doing right by him.

    But how old are you? Time limits exist and they are far, far harsher for a woman. You want to marry at or before your peak, to the highest value man whose commitment you can secure.

    That peak ends before 30.
