Is this normal? We dated for a year and now we're best friends. He was my first boyfriend and also my first time. Is it wrong for us to be still close?
Not as far as I can see. As long as ya'll can both respect when the other starts dating someone new.
I accidentally voted not normal, but i believe it just fine to be normal. Respect each other and rid yourself of jealousy and I think it will be a good friendship. Good luck
I think it is not at all normal (as in common, usual), but I don't think there is anything wrong with it, as long as neither is trying to rekindle a dead relationship.
My and my ex-gf get along way better since we broke up a couple years ago. We still hang out all the time and get along great. When we lived with each other though we would argue a lot. I seem to get along with anyone better when I'm not around them constantly.
I wouldn't say it's not normal... You've got history and you're used to opening up to him... But I can't imagine the friendship is very healthy. You're going to need space so soon after the breakup. If you guys are still hanging out in a five years, he's a true blue friend, but I wouldn't bank on it.
