I have found that whenever I am about to cry, the back of my mouth tasted like the awful smell of old pennies. :( Can anyone relate?

Anyway, that metallic taste might just be blood, or puss. It could be anything- a dental problem, coagulated blood from your nose, or sinusitis or something worse, though i THINK it's from your nose since you say it only happens when you're about to cry (nose gets runny and all that). You might want to check it out with a doctor though, to be sure.
my mouth taste like blood. for some reason, sometimes I wake up with mild to severe chew marks in my cheeks and they hurt like hell sometimes.
Everytime i pass by this i think it says "mouth tastes like penis" the words are similar...
As others said it could be blood. Maybe mouth issues. Also it could be low iron or it could be a side effect of medication. Mine taste metallic all the time which is due to my Rx.
That's actually very common but you should still have it checked out. It is a symptom to a list of illnesses.
