Motivation through challenge or success

I just found out I can't play any videogames with my brother that are fun for both of us. Because he is motivated by challange and I need success. Failure incites him to try harder but it only brings me down. On the other hand if we succeed I'm having fun, while he starts loosing interest.

So he's the kind of guy who can learn something completly new and become very good at it.
I don't really practice anything I don't have a gift for, and if I have to, I feel like shit.

What motivates you?

Success 9

Both. The greater the challenge, the greater the reward.

Both. I love a good challenge, but success has to be an outcome for me to love it so much. If it will *only* end in failure and I know this, then I see it as a bit pointless to try so hard. Succeeding at something that was challenging is great.

The feeling I get when I reach new weights in the gym is completely enveloping. I have set myself new goals which I will start this year so I suppose it is both the challenge and success which motivate me.
