Monk or monarch?

It's the 14th century.

As a monk you live modestly. No sex ever, bland food, & working at the monastery. You study scripture you find infinitely meaningful though. You die in peace

As a monarch you live big. Whoever you want to have sex with, lavish food, parties and activities to your liking. But you are plagued with threats to your authority, people trying to exploit you, war, some hatred from the people. You may die in peace but there's a chance you'd die in agony if you're not a competent ruler.
