It can't buy happiness, but I'd rather cry in my Ferrari.

  • Money can buy happiness, but happiness can be attained without money.

When you see a guy cruising on his private yacht with 5 different supermodels, each of them is of a different race, and he neither can remember their names nor he needs to, tell this guy that money can't buy happiness.

A lot of people that say "money can't buy you happiness" are the ones with money. But how would the ones without money know that when they don't have any?

I have been sad and broke.

I have been sad with money.

I have been happy while broke.

I have been happy with money.

Of the 4 I prefer happy with money.

This was a really tough choice. Yeah I'd have a loving family but we'd live in a bad neighborhood. They'd probably go to a school with low test scores. There's a high chance my kids could get bullied. What if I make my kids share a bicycle? Would I be able to put my kids through college? Would my kids get enough attention if I (and husband perhaps) were working all the time?

My family might love me but I'd feel so pressured to right by them I'd go crazy. Rich and alone might be better for me.

Being poor comes with a lot of hardships, and a loving family can break apart due to financial problems. The only problem that comes with the money is the loneliness, which can easily be ignored with fake friends and giant house parties. If I had the money, I'd be a regular Jay Gatsby.

If u bought family and paid them just to be ur family they would probably just use u for all ur money until ur poor then u would be poor with ni family ;(

I think money can buy things that can make you happy, like...
you can buy a home so you never have to pay rent again, and thats paid for with money, you can be a virgin and want a 100% chance to lose it to a decent looking chick so you go to the Bunny Ranch...and those whores cost money...so...money can buy temporary happiness, but if you have enough money, you could stay happy till the day you die.

    *shrugs*

If I suddenly became rich but lost my kids the next day, I'd probably shoot myself!
Actually this is irrespective of the money or not.

So for people with a family already, the question is unfair.
YES I want money damn you! But I don't want to lose my family for it.
I didn't vote, because I still want money AND family.

As for people who tell me that money can't buy happiness. What are you mad? First thing 'we' would do is go holidaying for at least a year (how sad!!) Then start getting those bigboy toys. My daughter wants a convertible (she didn't say which make, but an expensive one) with a big pink ribbon wrapped around it for her 18th birthday. How sweet :) I'd get that too.

Of course money buys happiness, it buys power, look what Batman did!
All I want is a mansion on a hill overlooking the beach, and a horse stable, and 10 car garage (for my 10 cars) and my own in house cinema, and an inside heated pool and... well there's just no ending with my happiness. Oh the girl wants a horse too, so throw in a stable hand a gardener and a cook and cleaner. Since I wouldn't want to work ever again at home duties!

    Happy times.
Money doesn't buy happiness?? Don't be ridiculous.

Ahhh I dunno. Think I'd go money bc I'm a loose person and from what I've seen the loose guys make pretty good rich guys. It's the strung out/career/ambitious crazy ones that usually lose everyone along the way.
But hey , wouldn't wanna be a rich actor , imagine living the way they have to I'd be killing a couple of cameraman a day.

  • Money might not buy happiness but it sure does buy the things that make me happy. I can be a lone wolf

I don't equate having money with being rich or poor. Both are a state of mind.

Misery is misery, and having too much or two little money often makes it worse. I feel sorry for people who don't know how to be happy without money and things and those "rich kids" that I deal with are the prime example of what happens when you can have just about anything you want... comes with a bunch of existential "what is my purpose?" bullshit.

Sorry, I'm a tad stoned. I'd go with the good family. I lived with a family with money and the woman that I knew had beautiful shit and sports cars and all she ever wanted was more... and the more she got, the more she wanted and more and more and more was never enough. She got more, and more but she couldn't enjoy it like someone like me could.

It's like opiates. The more you take, the more you need and eventually it stops bringing you the pleasure that it once did you HAVE to have it. I know some people who enjoy their money and who never have this problem, but if you have problems before you get that money well... money won't buy those problems away. Didn't help my Aunt.

I think we need to define what is being rich. Rich doesn't always refer to your bank balance. I rather be RICH with love from a loving family over money anyday.
