Milk from a different animal? why the disgust?

I got to thinking about milk today. I remembered reading an article about ice cream made from human milk and all the reactions to it. Most of them were either saying it was gross, or they were saying that it was unsafe.

Thing is, those kinds of reactions aren't specific to human milk. I could bring up just about any non-cow animal and there would be similar responses. Why do people get so suspicious and sickly about milk that doesn't come from cows?

    They all taste different. Our pallet is accustomed to cows milk, not goat. But lots of people drink goat milk.

    I don't have an issue with other kinds of milk, but human milk has the potential to transmit a myriad of diseases.

    I'm also American but I happen to think that goat milk/cheese are quality.

    i tried getting goat milk once and it was so fucking nasty i had to throw it away. it makes alright cheese but the milk is FOUL.

    It all depends where youre from. I went to Greece where all they have is goat milk. I drank it because i didnt know but i prefer cow milk. Now soy/almond/ any other plant/ or nut "milk" is a whole other story...

    Human milk would probably be best for us to drink, but since we have been co-evolving with cows and goats for several thousand years we tend to lean towards those and our bodies have even adapted to digest it even though these is no need for an animal to drink milk after infancy.

    Hence why some races are more lactose intolerant than others.

    I wonder what human cheese tastes like...
