Mexican neighbors called the landlord on me

So this is weird,

I'm this white guy living in this small third floor apartment for about a year with no neighbors below me. Approximately 3-4 Mexicans moved in 2 months ago. I'm not sure how many there are, to be quite honest. They do not seem to speak English or have any interest in befriending me or responding to me.

Anyway, they are LOUD. I mean really fucking loud. They play loud music at 2am, and they yell at each other. I try to ask them to turn it down at night in person, and sometimes they do, but I've never called the cops on them or the landlord.

So I got wasted last night and apparently I made too much noise. Apparently the neighbors called the landlord, who is also mexican, and told him that they heard a very loud, threatening noise upstairs and that they were very concerned. He called me and I was drunk, so I ignored him. The next day I called him and he basically scolded me, or something, about how he almost called the police and about how I can't be making a ruckus like someone is being beat down.

Anyway I'm fucking pissed off right now and I basically told him to shove it. I listen to these Mexicans playing ridiculous reggaetone or whatever at all hours of the goddam day. I don't pry, spy, or even try to talk to them anymore. I just let them be, I barely even complain to them.

So the one time I admitedly fuck up and make too much noise they overreact and get my landlord in on it.

I am contemplating hard retaliation along the lines of just straight calling the cops on them. Am I overreacting or are they being fuckheads to me?

    I am Mexican my self not like cowboy hat, and moustache but any way I think you are in the right on this. Anyone who lacks the respect of their neighbors repeatedly should have consequences. I would definately call the cops if it continues. Don't feel bad becuase you can't even live at peace in your own home. You are reacting just fine, which mean that your situation is normal. I hope they learn to shut the fuck up, or they could get the hell out of there.

    Call the cops and get their asses deported. Illegal immigrants should be shipped back to Mexico not annoying innocent people.

    Whys it always the slew of mexicans that make so much noise in the apartment complex? I used to have the same issue, take it up with the landlord and if he does nothing call the cops.

    Wow, that would suck! I've lived in a crappy apartment before with loud annoying neighbours, so I feel your pain. If they aren't going to make any effort to talk to you or be friends, I guess it's time for you to take matters into your own hands. Good luck!

    fuck yeah, call the cops!
    you've handled too much shit from these guys,
    and your landlord can't exactly say anything or kick you out because it's YOUR RIGHT as a citizen. you've made a noise, like what, once? and theyre doing it constantly? maybe a a visit from the police will be just the wake-up call they need.. they're probably illegal anyway. YAY 4 DEPORTATION!

    ohh yeah man im with you on this one. i used to live in an apartment i had mexicans right obove my pplace and they played music 24.7 and it was loud i never called the landlord though but one time i had some friends over they called the landlord and he was mad.
    so i moved out got a house and guess what i have mexians for nabors! they play music and this one guy plays with his truck i mean he ruffs the engine for like an hour. so yeah

    thats kinda fucked that they are allowed to make all this noise but when it's you they almost call the cops. Lame. Not all mexicans are like that bro, i would never call the cops on ANYONE even if they were making loud sounds late at night. sorry mate

    Yes I'm Mexican,hah & yes I know what kind of loud music at 2 am ur talking bout!...& let me tell you reggaeton is the best music ever!,what do you like listening to? Opera? Come on!...well anyways I also hate it when my family makes parties with loud music on Sundays cause I go to school on the next day,& apparently u got fucked up u should become friends with them ! Hah we're nice ppl.if not just move out, your white tell your parents to give u the $ to buy a house or something, oh no wait....u can't :/ cause they'll find out u got scolded & won't give u shit.just live with it or become frnds;it's not that hard u can teach them English & they'll teach u Spanish :D.

    You are ALL not being very neighborly.
    They weren't being good neighbors first and you finished it off by not being a good neighbor. Does that make you more right than them? No.

    And what does being Mexican have to do with them being good neighbors or not? You still could have told your story without mentioning that.

    If you are a good person, try to work it out with them without coming off as a jerk and I'm sure everything could work out. Be humble.
