Metaphysical solipsism ideology over material existence

Is it normal to deny material existence over metaphysical solipsism? due to spending most of time alone at home?

Get out of your head and experience the world.

It is. And so are our brains....But that is no reason to stop interacting with it. Sometimes philosophy gets in the way of itself.

It doesn't make sense to choose one or the other, it's impossible to prove either way. You just have to assume that the universe exists without you. Think of it like this, if a little kid points a toy gun at you and says you're under arrest, you go along with it. You obviously know he's not a cop but you dont have to take it seriously, just go along with it until it's over. Acting as if you're the only one who exists is equivalent to telling the kid "You're not a cop, you're just a stupid kid, fuck off."

I'm an agnostic solopsist, dude. Get out there and enjoy the game, man. It's a vast world with a lot to do, and it's timed too, so you're missing opportunities just staying home all the time.

If that's the case then shouldn't you be able to control the world around you by just thinking about it? Kinda like how you can control a dream? (when you realise you're just dreaming).

Reality could be a computer simulation so that you wouldn't have control of it, its laws would've been put in place by the creators. In which case though you may as well just live life in the same way as you would if it was real anyway, the consequences for you will be the same.

I always thought that if solipsism was the case then you likely have immense power in order to likely fabricate the reality. If that's the case then I can imagine that as a god like being you would get bored, and might want to run a simulation with a blank slate (not knowing what happens before birth), with self-capped knowledge (not knowing what happens after death and of your true state), and self-capped power (the clear limit to the power at your disposal in this world), and finally play it all out with an interesting simulation going on, that you've pre-created, i.e. Earth.

        That's a pretty cool thought.
