Mentally parenting friends ?

So, in all the time I’ve spent after middle school I usually access friends based on how I would nice it would be to parent them. Like, if I were a mother to them, what would I love about them ?. I really enjoy spending time with people that I think this way of out of habit, but I’m afraid my way of thinking is a bit creepy !
