Men wearing makeup to hide blemishes and age spots

Is it normal that me, a 52 year old man started wearing makeup daily to make my face prettier?

I began havig small red blemishes on my cheeks so I wear makeup now and my face looks great. The makeup I use blends well and nobody can tell I am wearing it.

  • I wouldn't say it's "normal" to do it socially "nowadays" like it used to be, but I see nothing wrong with it. Guys can look pretty badass with make up applied.

Why not. As we get older there are a few blemishes that reveal themselves. If you choose to cover them up, good for you. Most people will not notice that you have something covering the blemishes, so "go for cover up".

I'd think by the time you were 52 years old, you'd be comfortable with who you are. I couldn't even imagine worrying that much about my looks at your age. If you are doing it because you think it will help you with women (or guys) then I think you are deluding yourself. Anyone who would like you at 52, isn't going to do it because you've hidden a few age spots. Sorry.

    Normal

Oh man, I remember in school I had black nails and " scene" hair, took me an hour to style each morning, I got really caught up in it all haha.

    Sorry

Randomly went off on a nostalgia trip but yeah, I think there's a growing market in male make up

It's funny to read all these comments saying um no not unless you were attacked/badly burned at whatnot, yet we still expect women to wear it daily. Think about this for a bit.

I said t was normal, but really anyone including girls wearing makeup is not normal. Girls wear makeup because society expects them to and we learn that we need it to look beautiful, even though this isn't true and even if we don't think this is true, it is subconscious. You, my friend, have been primed into thinkin that having red spots is not normal and that they hurt your appearance so now you cover them. According to the ideas about beauty that society suggests, this is absolutely normal and it is expected of you. But no one needs makeup, it is carcinogenic. Research.
