Men - is it normal to lose interest in a girl after sleeping with her?

Recently, I had been texting with a guy I met on a night out for about three months - long, deep, meaningful conversations about pretty much everything. He seemed crazy into me and we got on great - we met up, ended up sleeping together - since then, we're still texting (although not as much as before - he initiated the texting though) but we haven't met up and he hasn't mentioned anything about meeting again. It's been almost a month now. I don't get it - why he is keeping in touch with me, and why he doesn't seem bothered about seeing/sleeping with me again. This kind of thing seems pretty common.

Is it normal for guys to lose interest after sex and why does it happen? Thanks

    • yeah i get that, i'm not stupid! my question is more like, why do men hit and run? I made it pretty clear I'm not after a relationship and I just want casual sex, but more like a non-exclusive fuck buddy thing then a one night stand. I am genuinely curious why guys seem more into the one night thing than the fuck buddy thing, any thoughts?

I suppose you are talking about a young guy? A lot of young guys are into notches on their gun, so to speak. Rack up the numbers with no regard for the intensity of the relationship or the quality of the experience. I must admit though, he has invested an inordinate amount of time in you for a cock's man, so perhaps he just doesn't understand the depth of your feelings for him and he isn't a cad at all.

I have been texting with a guy for months now and he is always talking about visiting me and for a split second I thought that'd be a good idea but hearing your story has opened my eyes that we could easily just end up sleeping together and he'd lose interest and the whole thing would be fucked since he lives in another city. I'm. sorry that guy did that to you.

You could also easily end up marrying that guy.

That is so true, guess there's need to take a chance but also being careful, the heart is a fragile thing.

It's the "thrill of the chase" syndrome. It's not the kill, it's the thrill of the chase. Have you ever seen a cat go after a mouse? the cat chases, chases, chases, until he finally catches the mouse. the cat will then bat the mouse around a couple times, get bored. and walk away.
