Med student and relationships

okay heres the thing. im a pre med biology major and since i made the choice to do this i have went all out with everything to increase my odds to get into med school. i volunteer, do honors, outside research projects, im a soon to be RA and im in the ROTC. On top of my regularly scheduled stuff like church and work. it freaks me out that all of my friends are getting married and stuff. is it normal that i should be worried about this stuff? the whole marriage thing? i mean im by no means a geeky nerdy type and meet people frequently that i know i could date but i dont want to get into anything cause i know that if i do start a relationship ill odds are have to end it when i do get accepted somewhere out of state

I'm currently in my residency. It's a trade off. I'm 30 and my girlfriend wants to get married, she drops hints like bombs.

Med school is med school--it's a lot of work and some people can have relationships at that time and some can't. I met my girlfriend in med school and that was an advantage, I don't think I could have made it without her. Granted, I still owe 80K but hey, it happens.

It gets easier as time goes on, when you get to your residency -- you'll find time to live a little but before that - study.

dont worry about it...med school is hard enough without worrying about what everyone else is doing.keep plugging away get your degeee and then youll be able to get any chick you want when youre a doc.an OB/GYN specialization wouldnt hurt either ;)

    • You forgot to tell him to wrap it before he posts it! There are plenty of scheming females out there who would love to trap such an obviously carere iriontated young man for their future security. Not to mention the posibiliyoes of STD's. Just because his chosen field is in meds doesn't mean he is always'brain engaged' and we all know how easy it is to be slack now and again!

WRAP IT BEFORE YOU POST IT!
