Marley and me didn't make me cry. at all.
It has been said that Marley and Me makes even real grown men sob like babies and that if you don't cry you're a heartless bastard. Well then...I'm a heartless bastard, because not one tear was shed at the ending.
Was it sad? Yes, it was quite sad. However, I felt the ending went way too fast for me to feel emotional, and by the end credits I had recovered to normal mood. Besides, Marley was pretty old and his death wasn't very untimely: He died of old age. Of course, losing a friend will always hurt, regardless of age or cause. But to me, Marley & Me wasn't terribly tragic, or anywhere near the "saddest movie ever" as people put it. It sounded just like a normal progression of the average American pet dog's life, with average drama.
To be clear, I have felt very emotional over some movies, but Marley and Me didn't push me that far.
Is it normal not shed a single tear at Marley & Me?
