Of course you wanna show your best side, but don't be dishonest. If who you are is not enough in the beginning of the relationship, it's never gonna be enough. So if you're not honest about who you are you're just setting yourself up for a bad relationship.
Even if it's harmless, you shouldn't do it. If someone is really interested in you, you don't need to lie to make your life sound more interesting, they'll just want to hear more about what makes you you and how you became the person you are today.
Trust and open communication are so important, start building those early and just be honest, it will be better for your relationship in the long run than embellishing things to make yourself look better.
Meh. It's misleading. I wouldn't say I'd do this myself but I wouldn't say it's a big deal aslong as it's not at the expense of others.
Lying is a shitty thing to do, and liars are shitty people. Don't be a shitty shithead.
Stop immediatly! They did it to me and I swear is a major turn down on trust especially on small things, because then someone Will think if is fake on the small what about something big? No stop it, I left two boyfriends for this, van be a huge disappointment
It's not a good idea even though lots of people do it. Maybe you need to have a think about why you don't feel interesting enough just as you are without making things up.
Even little lies at the start of a relationship can have longterm repercussions down the track if the other person finds out you've lied and it's not good for you either because of the stress of worrying about them finding out later on.
Have a think about how you'd feel if it were the other way round and you found out the person you're with had lied to you in the past, even about something unimportant: that can destroy trust in a relationship real fast.
It's understandable but not a good idea for you or the other person.
It's things that almost don't even matter. Like I said I lived in France for a year rather than just a couple months in the summer. I don't even know why I said it but it sounded better for some reason. Also, I made up a weird childhood story about tricking my little brother into drinking a soda that I peed in. I didn't lie about anything important.
