Lucid reoccuring dreams

ive had dreams with the same figure in them since i was eight, but he has never been prominent or significant and when he was it was normally just pointing in directions or handing me objects that were just out of reach, helpful stuff.
but recently these dreams have turned dark. always the same location, no people with the ecception of "X"(shorthand for this figure). it starts the same and normally follows the same path until i do something that changes it sometimes resulting in death by unknown creatures, after my death the dream resets and i do it all over again.

been having it for the the last three weeks on an average of 3-10 times a night 4-7 days a week. what does this mean, some tend to think that X is a manefestation of subconsicous emotion which would make sense i guess but im still really confused
