Lucid dreaming

For the past year, I've been able to have some control over my dreams. I realize I'm dreaming and I can change things. However, when I do this, my dreams fight back. I do something that should make the dream better, but my dream takes whatever I've done and makes the result worse. It's really bad when I have nightmares, because the monsters get worse or I end up all alone with the monsters. Is it normal that my mind fights back in my dreams?

I have lucid dreams very frequently. I can't alter my surroundings once I dream something and become aware of it im just kinda stuck in that situation. Often I can wake up from a lucid dream and go back to sleep and continue the same dream.

When I interact with people in my dreams they can react very realistic. What exactly are you trying to do in your dreams that they turn on you?

You need to boost your confidence. You can control your dreams, but your subconscious is screaming, "No, you can't!" Seriously, I had this problem. It's not easy, but you can rid yourself of it. Try meditating.

So try to only slightly change your dream not drastically change it and see what happens

Ah I just had my first lucid dream not too long ago. I think my mind did the same thing. I realized I was dreaming and after a while I switched locations.I was pretty mad and I wanted to go back (to my boyfriend hehe) so i just "fell" straight down. It was an awesome feeling but then I woke up =( It was still pretty neat though.

the same happened to me when I first began dreaming lucidly (did I say that right?) but with practice, I learned to overcome my subconscious or whatever it was that was trying to me. I kinda of liked it bc the extra challenge made things more interesting!

I tried for years to control my dreams, or self-hypnosis, but I can't do any of it. I'm not suggestible. One tip that helped a friend though was to write down every fact about the dream upon waking. I don't know the science of it but it strengthens the control of your conscious mind. You may have to do it for quite a while too. I'm talking a couple of years.

Did you really wanted to make your dream better? How exactly did you do it? It's very interesting.
