Looking back, what would you change in your life when you were 16/17?

If you could turn back time to when you were 16/17,and redo or undo your biggest mistake or something you just didnt like, what would it be?

getting into partying, drugs, alcohol 5
losing virginity(or who you lost it to) 6
caring about what others might think of you 20
not living your life 28
not spending enough time with your family 3
not taking school seriously and messing up 30
Other (please add a comment) 16
stopping a hobby(sports, music,whatever) 6

i'm turning 18 in 6 weeks and i regret having sex when i was 17 with such a random guy. I wish i could change that and had my 1st sex with someone more special. But well, it happened and there's nothing i can do :)

I'm sure Ron Weasley feels the same way about it as you. Use a Time-Turner and lose your virginity to someone special...

      like Hermione.

      or Dumbledore.

i would jog my ASS OFF!

so i would get thin, and ask a few girls out on whom i had a crush, and get done all those experiences i missed out on just because i was fat and that my self esteem low
maybe i would have joined football too.. but i never was much interested in sports anyways.. i was too damn lazy

If like there was a time machine, I'd go back earlier than that and do something more drastic.

But if I could only go back to 16/17, I'd have a long hard talk with myself, and it would be something as follows:

    1. People actually like you and care about you, and that's okay, you deserve it
    2. What happened wasn't your fault, and it did happen, so don't judge yourself
    3. You're going to get through this and become a person that even you can't imagine right now
    4. Even if your mum is a bitch, she will be right about one thing later - that guy isn't right for you - so stay away from him.
    5. You're never going to stop being creative or nerdy - this isn't just a phase, or a hobby, it's who you are. Might as well make the most of it.
    6. If other people say you're an egomaniac because you like talking about intellectual stuff its only because they're not interested, not because you're actually an egomaniac, or because they're stupid
    7. Your emotions matter. Get in touch with them now. The hard yards are now, so when you're finally through that, you'll have such an awesome time.

Wishing I could be able to complete school. Had to quit to go to work, things were bad in my house in those days. Parents were killed in an automobile wreck; {Would like to have them back, big time}. My brother and I never spoke to one another don't even to this day. So what I am trying to say is have my family back.

In closing all of you that have your entire family, PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THEM FOR GRANITE, LOVE AND APPRECIATE THEM FOR THEY ARE PRECIOUS.

if you young guys really wanna know what else i might have done, i would have seriously studied maths, and science. i had gotten 70% grades but my base wasn't strong enough to get into a good engineering college.
and i wanted to become an evil genius scientist,in physics- perhaps create a lightsaber or silver surfer's surfboard.. but instead just settled for plain ass programming

And really, when you know shit, you can IMAGINE shit. thus, study keeping in mind that that shit just might come in use later in yourlife to give you ideas about something you might work on for a living..

Same number of votes for "Not Messing Up In School" and "Not Living Your Life". What a contrast.

I would like to try and be open to family and friends about my crossdressing. I started at 13 and I had no one I could talk to about it till my younger sister let me know she would be more than accepting. But I never knew how or who I could talk to. Back then I am sure I would have been locked away somewhere. Alot of reason I never did try talking to anyone.

I grew up in China and when I came to the states I was 15 and talk about culture shock, plus my sister stayed in China, and my parents were getting divorced. I regret the drugs, sex, skipping school, reckless behavior. I wish I had reached out to somebody and been completely honest with myself about what was going on in my life.
    :)

I think I focused too much on boyfriends, and the drama with them. I still sort of do that, but I spent most of being sixteen being depressed. Not only because of relationships, but because I was suicidal - because of medication issues. Aside from clinical depression, I was with someone I couldn't open up to, that I wasn't really close to, and that didn't appreciate me. I should have just spent time discovering myself. I wish I was happy at that age.

    I wouldn't...
    1. let other people determine how I feel about myself
    2. let the social hierachy called "high school" make me feel so Sh*tty
    3. Flirt so freekin' shamelessly
    4. Dismiss school so blatantly

Of course, college is a whole new atmosphere and life is sooo much better now :D

all of the above... when i was 16 i started dating an older man, lost my V, he introduced me to online gaming, which led to me losing my job, which meant i could no longer afford the horse i bred and raised for 6 years and put all of my heart into, i gained about 30 lbs because i quit highschool for this idiot and his online games he got me hooked on, and my mom fell hard into alcoholism. so.

my outlook is everything happens for a reason. it's just hard to live with those ridiculous mistakes i made, and lost so much in so little time.

It doesn't matter what I vote because there is no indication in the answer if I would do it or not do it.
