Looking at our poo before flushing

Is it normal ? Its like every time after I take a poo , I always have to look at it before flushing. I don't know...maybe there's a small part of me that thinks i'll see something crazy looking & different one day when I take a poo. So that is why I look ? Also, it seems like all animals do the same. Maybe its a genetic wiring in us to look at our poo's before flushing ? For health purposes ? I think I may also do it for humor purposes just to see what came out of me..and how large or weird looking it is. I'm not 100% sure though..but it does seem like an automatic thing.. and definitely not something we were taught by our parents.

    xD after reading cillyme's comment..the first thing that came to mind, insted of flushing, bring a chair in, get some popcorn and watch.

    You can tell how good or bad your diet is by checking. Like, it's supposed to be darker, and it's not supposed to float. And a quick look is all you need, it's not like you have to sit and stare at it for a while.

    I casually mentioned to my brother one day that immediately after going i close the lid then flush. He was like, "wtf is wrong with you? Youre supposed to look a it to make sure your poo isnt blue or something." so ever since then i check but i wish i didnt.

    My mom made check my poo after I started eating Pennies beads rings etc but now that I'm older I still do it just in case anything from childhood pops up.. Lol thanks for making me feel normal guys I was starting to wonder lol!

    I think everyone in the world looks at their poo before flushing. We all have our different reasons for doing so. I do it to make sure I'm healthy and nothing abnormal is going on. One day it was a good thing I did look because there was blood. I never would have known for a long time that something was wrong.

    Totally normal. You never know when you might find something abnormal with your poo. Always good to just take a quick look.
