Liking your best friend through distance for over a year?

So, I like my best friend. Problem is, he is 3,000+ miles away.
We met years ago and instantly hit it off as friends, and he became my absolute best friend after time. Then, last year, I started liking him a little more. And, I knew he liked me too. Both of us did nothing, not wanting to screw the friendship. And, after a long time of liking each other, I fell head over heels in love with him. And, according to what he told other people, he fell in love with me.
Then, I moved across the country, and we never settled anything, just left. So, it has almost been a year, and I still talk to him ALL THE TIME. (And no, I will not cut ties with him. He is my best friend. He has been for years, and years.) and I think I still like him. Is that normal?
And I guess also comment what I should do?

Recent conversations revealed that my best friend who lives there also likes him. Now really please help me. Comment on what I should do? I'm visiting this summer and I'm extremely nervous.
