Like the smell of my toes?? and what is the smell???

Okay... Well I get a joy out of cutting my toenails and I like just cutting the corner and then slowly pulling them off.
.....when I do that I smell the sides of my toenails, and I love it. It smells kinda cheesy? What could the smell be.. And any idea why I love it so much??
On top of that, feet are really gross to me and I hate it when people wear sandals

    Well ladies and gentlemen..let me explain my words of wisdom.
    First of all do your toenails smell like something familiar? sort of..cheesy??
    Now let me ask you another question..why do cheeses have a distinct smell?
    Well...both are made up of the same bacteria. Yes, cheese is partly made up of bacteria. Your foot has some good bacteria that help protect your skin from infections like viruses and fungus. Cheese is also partly made up of that bacteria. I guess if your a cheese lover you may and up having the sort of problem that you do right now.

    I also love this smell.. I Google'd it because I finally needed to know... if I was the only one and I am glad I'm not. This is exact to the tee... the edges on the big to nail after you rip them off or cut them.. smells soooooooooooooooo good! I'm smelling mine right now... and I also thought it smelled similar to cheese. Brevibacterium Linens.. I'm glad that person commented I'm going to look it up.

    Lmao! I do the exact same thing!! Idk what it is but i love smelling my big toe after i cut it. I even save it a few days haha and same as you! I think feet are disgusting and hate when ppl wear sandals! Lol weird to think others do the same lol but glad

    Well, the smell is probably a build-up of caproic acid which is produced by bacteria that live on your skin (probably brevibacterium linens).
    I have to say I have noticed it too, when I cut my toenails, particularly my big toe.
    I like the smell. Don't know why - probably an animal thing.
    Ah, what's normal anyway?!

    Sometimes when I clip my toenails I forget to wash my hands afterwards and smell the funk of my nails and wash my hands right away but as far intentionally smelling it,nope!
