Lecturer was weird.

This is kind of weird and I'm not exactly sure how to describe it but I'll try.

There was a guest speaker at my college, she was the wife of a former general and she was describing her experiences with her husband living all over the world, she especially talked about the 7 years they lived in korea.
I can't explain it but whenever she talked about other countries, or cultures, I felt these super racist undertones. Like not intentional but like she was trying so hard not to be racist that it just sounded wrong. She kept reminding me of Chris's teacher from the TV show everybody hates Chris.

I don't know why she gave of this vibe but she just did, I asked a friend about it she said she felt the same thing from the lecturer.
is it normal I got a feeling like this from her?

Without knowing who was speaking it's impossible to say if what you felt was normal or not.

She gave off a racist vibe without saying anything particularly racist, or any detail significant enough for you to be able to recall?

Maybe the problem is that you have developed a hyper-sensitivity to racism.

    • That's what was so weird, I'm not at all, in fact most people who know me would say I'm too insensitive about that stuff.

Maybe she's not racist, but just doesn't know any better?
