I'm moving house and have been told that the lady who lived there previously died there. That made me a little uneasy. You can still see the fade marks on the walls where she had lots of photo frames and clocks, she must have lived there a long time. I was planning on repainting the whole apartment but I feel weird about painting over this person's life. I'm also worried about ghosts.

Would it be normal to write her a letter on the walls? I'd tell her who I am and about my life and that I'll take care of her home. Then I'll paint over it and everything else.

    not a bad idea, but i would also sit down in the room alone and just politely introduce yourself to her and explain that you will now be moving in, and mean her no disrespect but will be painting,and getting situated,ect. i'm sure she will understand,just DON'T be rude or demanding..no one likes that, not even spirits! please let us know how it goes,ok?

    I'd just do it. It isn't doing you any harm and if you have a "feeling" that you should then it may be quite difficult to shake that off if you don't follow through. No sense in pissing off a ghost unnecessarily.

      I don't move in until next week, I've just had a strange feeling while there. I'm sure it will be fine but I'll let you guys know!

    Burn some sage. Pray a bit. But I agree with the previous comment that you might be going overboard on contacting her.

    You may paint and carry on with your routine life. Writing letters to spirits is not a good idea. You're just disturbing them and seeking their attention. If you're religious, have a Catholic priest and get the home blessed.

    No one really knows what happens after death but one idea is that the consciousness leaves the body. Its like a point in space that can move around and see everything. After death the consciousness is in the same place where the person died. So they will see what is happening. Two weeks after death the consciousness disappears to a different dimension. In the medieval times they used to cover up paintings and mirrors so that the "ghost" didn't get lost in them, since you can go into the paintings and mirrors as consciousness.
