Layered nylons/pantyhose on women

I've always liked to see a woman wear nylons and then fishnet stockings over her legs. I believe it is called layering. I knew this girl in high school, a short sexy filipina who wore nylon stockings and then over that she wore fishnet stockings. The difference in the shading was something else. Since I have not seen any women who wore their nylons like this. Why?

I sometimes wear two layers of pantyhose. When the weather is cold and my boyfriend wants me to wear some shorter skirt outside I rather wear two pairs of sheer pantyhose than some thick tights.

From a perspective of someone who layers their pantyhose, because it's twice the pantyhose, it's twice the sweat. It's something I can't usually do in the summer.
