Ladies, would you hate a guy for this?

Would you hate or feel anger towards a guy who closes off and shuts down when a relationship gets bad? Kinda happened to me. I felt very neglected and started to close off. I became shy, empty, unresponsive and lost all my confidence. Eventually broke down when it ended.
I feel it wasn't really my fault since I reacted this way because of how much I felt emotionally cheated and neglected (long distance relationship takes its toll). But regardless, would you girls hate a guy for retreating like that?

I would hate him 6
I would feel angry but not hate him 19
I would feel just as neglected as he did in the end 29
I would feel sorry that I drove him that far 12

    I'd be angry that I allowed any man to destroy my self-confidence.

    No, but I think I'd feel hurt and disappointed. No feelings of hate.

    It's just a guess, but I think your feeling of "hate" might stem from a feeling of a lack of control over the situation with him.

    I had a similar situation with an ex. Not hate, just angry and sad.

    I'd feel sorry that I drove him that far. I can't help it, some of the blame will always be with me.
