Ladies: at what age did you get your period?

When I was younger...everyone told me this bullshit about how I will officially be considered a young lady and its so mature and that I should be proud when I get my period. So when I first got it I was cheering and so excited....now that I've had it for so long I really want to slap myself and those people that lied to me...

I didn't want to grow up, so I was disappointed when it happened.

I got mine at age 14. It was still scary even though I had been told about it before.

12... at soccer camp, but I didn't realize until AFTER we went swimming. I used to want my period, but now, I'm like "these suck!"

Got it at age 11. Gash, I was so mad when I saw it..

I was 13. When I got it I started to cry because I thought I would bleed every day for the rest of my life XD

I started when i was 9 1/2 , but i already knew at the time that i was gunna get them early because i was so developed and very mature for my age, at 9 i was already 5ft6 ''/ But i dont think development or heigh REALLY matter towards the time i think its more when your mum first started??

For some reason I got mine at 11, but my sister and my mom got theirs when they were 14. I always thought it was strange because I never really was a big girl. I was never as developed as my sister so I always wondered why mine came so early, but hers was so late. She's 7 yrs older than me, so either way she had hers long before I had mine, but I still think its weird I got mine so early. I just feel like if it was gonna be anyone in the family who was getting theirs early it would be her. I mean, she wasn't a big girl either, but her boobs were/are always quite large.
