I dunno, all I can think about is Key & Peele rescuing that kid who was kidnapped by the thugs gangstas.
My own private Idaho comes to mind but more for van Sant's direction and river Phoenix, than for Keanu. Never really rated him.
One of his newer movies where he is a down on his luck gambler forced to teach a group of black kids how to play baseball. Based on a true story.
Very good movie.
Also, that song they sing is stuck in my head now.
If I discover a new island someday, I will name it:

I dislike great white hope movies. The benevolent white person comes in to rescue all the minorities. Horse shit.
It's not about his skin color. It's about the kind of movies where some white person goes into the "ghetto" and reforms a bunch of black kids. I just don't like those kinds of movies. All the rest of Keanu's movies were great.
Why don't you? Do you feel the "ghetto" kids would have reformed themselves?
Who do you think is directly responsible for the "ghetto" in the first place?
I'm not a city planner or a sociologist so I cannot say who is responsible for the "ghetto".
If someone from anywhere wants reform, then they seek it out. I'm sure that many folks have gone and lectured the underprivileged kids of these neighborhoods about what resources are available to them. It is up to them to make the choice. However an infinite number of factors affect that choice.
As for what is aesthetically pleasing on the big screen that is also a personal choice.
