Job search probs

So I'm out of work right now ... Today I spoke with someone in an ideal position to help and you know what she said to me? "apply online". Oh btw I forgot to mention she's a relative of mine and works for the W old Bank. For those of you who don't know there's only one of two ways you can get in 1: hold the hiring manager at gunpoint OR have a family member vouch for you. So I was like "are you kidding me?!"...didn't say that of course but I was like WTF?!! So then I layed it down and said , "listen, I have tried that already and it doesn't work, that's why I'm calling you... I have ALOT of friends in there already and that's how they got in there.. I know how this works ...either you know someone or you don't , it's that simple. Besides I know there's several positions available that aren't advertised... That's how my friend Felipe got in. I didn't say this but how do you think this person got in? By applying online?! NOBODY gets through that way... Well they do but it's kinda like winning the lottery. Anyways this woman got in by being pushed through by a relative and has been there 30 yes!!! Lives in Bethesda of all places!! All I'm saying is give back what was given to you. I'm upset that so many people in this world ate in a position to help and decide not to even though it costs them nothing. NOTHING at all. If that's you then please let me know and let's get together and fight cuz I
would love to fuck you up.

Hey twinkletoes, did it ever cross your mind that maybe she won't vouch for you because, ya know, you're not worth being vouched FOR?

Okay, I hate people like that too, but because of the state of the economy companies are only taking people they know they can trust, and it's all about who you know. I suggest you go get some more contacts or keep meeting new people cuz it's he only way you'll get anywhere. I'm a uni student in a new town and I have the same fucking problem, how am I supposed to start? It's bullshit.

^ This? Just because she is a relative or knows you doesn't mean she has to vouch for you. Because if you were to do something stupid like quit or get fired it would look bad on her.

You need to see things from other points of view or rather, from higher above. When u fly in an airplane you can see so much more but when u r in a hole u can't and thats where you are...

You sound very subjective and that is blinding you to make a decision of being wrapped by something trivial vs. something important. You dig into things too much. Just see the overall facts and if she helps, great, if not, move on. & it really does not matter if she is your relative or not.

I would work through this resentment. It will deter you from advancing in finding a job, and there's the "luck of the draw" way that most people without that connection discover: the boss-man simply likes you...period.

When people don't want to "recommend" a person they know for a job at the company they work at, it's usually because they think that person will be a bad reflection on them.

If you had an amazing personality and work ethic, you'd have friends & family lining up to get you a job.

It's shitty to ever ask anyone to get you a job. If you can't do it yourself them move the eff on.

yeah i hate people that wont go out of their way to find me a job because i to am a lazy fuck who wont get off my own ass and do something about it. i too expect people to say "how high" when i tell them to jump. i too have the same fucked up attitude which could be the reason we cant get jobs huh.

so your a sheep huh. follow the flock and have everyone else do everything for you. why dont you do some study so you are actually qualified for the job you want. obviously your family member doesnt think you are right for the job otherwise they would recommend you. no wonder you cant find a job with that fucked up attitude. i recommended a job for a friend through my work because i thought they were the right person and they completely fucked me over so i am never doing anyone favours again. if you want something, then get off your lazy ass and fucking work for it.

And Reg: I like you. You remind me of when I was young and stupid. I'll try to be a little nicer if you try to be a little smarter.
