I see male friends being all cool and flirting with females with ease. I can't bring myself to do it as I feel strange, fake.
I also can't bring myself to have much physical contact with girls. The most I've done is an awkward hug as I say goodbye.
This would be normal for a young whippersnapper, but I'm 19 and I think I should be more confident by now.

lol i do feel "fake", cause i think fake is the word to describe this "sensation", when flirting... if im gonna flirt with a girl is because i really like her not because of the preasure of my friends... if you feel really atracted you will flirt with a girl and you wont feel weird.
Always been the same and I'm 23. Never seemed to have the confidence to just go start talking with girls as I am very shy. It's something I wish I could overcome right now.

You don't have to flirt just be yourself. There's no method to it, it's just conversation,
I suppose I know what you mean. I only flirt with people I feel comfortable with. The trick isn't the flirting, it's the feeling comfortable.
At least you got a hug from a girl, in my country that is called "first base". High five player!
First you have to feel comfortable with yourself as a person before you can flirt. Then you can work on the rest of your game!
Flirting is as easy as making small talk with someone. Just ask normal questions like where did you go school, do you have any siblings, etc. etc. Small talk is easy...then you get into which restaurants do you like, what do you do for fun...that forms into yea we should go out sometime it would be fun....easy easy easy...keep it friendly and dont try too hard.
