Iv got this weird door thing..

this has been happening for awhile now, when ever im in a room i can't stand doors being open, i don't know why. i feel uncomfortable, anxious, i just need to close them, even a window annoys me, when ever im in a room i need all doors closed, not even a lil open.
could this be sometype of disorder? or just paranoia, and most improtently
how strange is it? what do you's think?

It's sort of a security/privacy thing--kind of a personal preference. It probably also depends on how you were raised & how many other people are around &/or live in your house & where your room is & stuff like that. Absolutely normal--don't worry about it.

Your room is your personal space so you feel insecure when its open... it a totaly normal, some animal have own personal space too and react the same way.

i too never leave my door open, my parents did while they were sleeping and i always wondered how they felt comfortable that way. i would even just stand outside their door staring at my dad ( if he was asleep there alone) who looked totally relaxed in his sleep and was wondering how he can be so relaxed with the door open like that.it didn't even phase him. i'm different, no way i can be in my bedroom with the door open. i'd feel like people will be constantly staring in at me, or that i have no privacy.
sorry my comment is so long.
anyways i'm sure this is perfectly normal.

If you feel uncomfortable and anxious just because your door is open then it IS a disorder. Its normal, but you probably have OCD. I have it too, not a big deal..unless it takes over your life.

I'm the opposite, I have a phobia of closed doors. I'm very scared of them actually. I dont know where this ludicrous and dark idea came from, but I always have this feeling in my gut that there is someone on the other side who upon my opening will either stab me with a knife or bring an axe/sledgehammer down on my head O_o

I hated that too. I have to close my doors...

I feel that way too. I also am particular about where I sit in a theater or classroom, or which seat I take at a restraunt. It all depends on which way it faces in relationship to doors, windows, or other people in the room. I think it's honestly connected with Fung Shui.

  • I do that too, and i think it's because if someone enters my room i'll hear it when they open the door (or window).

My moms boyfriend likes to leave doors hanging open and I don't like it either. I just grew up with that "were you born in a barn?!" saying and I guess I just need to have all doors closed. I often get that feeling that people eavesdrop and it just seems to make rooms rooms, not turn the whole story into one big hallway. That's what doors are for; closing. If we didn't need to close doors we'd have doorways. ;P

I have the same thing. So do lots of people. Normal indeed. NOT a disorder. Hope this was helpful.
