It's 3am. you wake up to a wailing/scratching sound at your window....

You were sleeping in your bedroom all alone, even if you usually sleep with a partner. The wailing was low pitched and slow, very creepy, accompanied with slight scratching on the window. Coincidentally seconds after you wake up, the sound stops. You definitely weren't dreaming this

Realistically, what are you most likely to do?

Go back to sleep barely fazed 8
Hurry back to sleep scared covering your head with a blanket or pillow 9
Scream or freak out 0
Hesitantly but surely look to check outside your window 14
Watch TV or do something cause all your sleep's surely gone now 2
Try to find a weapon of any kind for some comfort 3
Start cussing out angrily who or what the $@#! that is. 3
Call or text someone 1
Start praying or reciting some holy verse 2
Go on facebook to post about it 0
Call the emergency hotline (911, 999 etc) 3
Sit up in your bed and be pretty much frozen in fear 9
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

I'm sorry I'll masturbate in the window quieter next time

    Ooh! Roleplay! :D

I would think that it's the cat and go back to sleep (On the outer side of the window is the fence. The cat usually walks there). Luckily, I sleep in front of a bookshelf (bad idea if an earthquake occurs), so I could through some of my books if whatever it is tries to attack...

If I don't go to sleep, I'll probably play on my 3DS or go on IIN until whatever it is does something.

Well tbh even if it continued after I had woken up I'd probably assume it's an acoustic hallucination left from the last fragments of sleep clinging onto me as i've had visual hallucinations after waking up, but hypothetically for the question if I was convinced it was real I'd probably think it was my cat, even if it sounds nothing like him, I get pretty confused sometimes when I wake up suddenly, or I'd hesitantly peek through the curtains

Oh I should expand on that, our bathroom is extended out from the rest of the house, it almost looks like an extension, my room is on the second floor so the cats often climb a fence, jump onto the bathroom roof and then come in through my window

Oh its just the insects and arachnids. I left tiny ice skates for them and they're having a grand old time, they just don't want to be seen by the wrong people. Not to worry deary.

In today's world, people will probably post a facebook status about it and add twitter hashtags like #yolo or #swag or whatever the retards say nowadays.

I would grab my kitana and walk around the perimeter of my house with my two Rottweilers.

Let me tell you a story before I go to sleep :)

When I moved to this town, I found a doggy on the street that was starving.. I don't really like small dogs but this one was different because she was old and grey and a girl and had almost no hair on her because of some sickness dogs get which I don't know the English name for...
I took her for myself, I named her Sniffles and I nurtured her.. I fixed her.. and the joy I felt inside of me was surreal

I loved that dog. She grew her hair back and she was just an amazing dog. I used to take her for long walks in the field (I live in the Karoo - kinda like your Outback...but less deadly).. I took her every Sunday.. and it was as if she knww when it was Sunday because every single time on that day at about 17:30 she started making these noises to tell me I mustn't forget it is walk time..

She just got too old, Mel.. and on that last Sunday, roughly four years ago, it was just like her life and joy wasn't there anymore.. She didn't run around or anything.. just walked behind me.. and I remember she walked into a shrub because she couldn't see that well anymore..

Then I picked her up in my arms and carried her for the rest of our walk.. and when I got to the tree in the field where we usually turned around, I looked down and saw that Sniffles had died in my arms..

And I just remembered going all quiet and I walked back home and I buried her that night.. I remember crying my heart out quietly in bed that night so that nobody could hear me...and I don't cry for anything.. like, at all.. nothing.. And I still miss her so much.

That made me cry :( poor old girl. But she had love in the end. That's all that matters :)

Oh wow, that's heart wrenching to me. Its really an innocent true love, the best kind. If only the ends weren't so tragic. If only? Still, your story is beautiful. You gave your furry friend an ideal life that most creatures can only dream.

I must go hug my dog now.

Then make a donation to the ASPCA.

Doubt such a sound will wake me up. I sleep like a rock!
But if it does wake me up, I will probably say a random curse word and go back to sleep. It was probably my cat. If it wasn't, whatever it was is going to have to wait until morning.

What would I do? I don't know, probably go take a look. Why does this IIN post make me think of Wuthering Heights? Ha!

On my window? That's never been worth losing my sleep over...if it was my front door then I would most likely investigate.
