It is normal to feel really sluggish after quitting weed?

Hey guys,

I started smoking weed when I was 16 and I'm going to be turning 30 this April. When I was in college I used to do bongs with friends after college and at weekends. We used to smoke spudnik (the blocky weed kind) heavily and when I would decide to quit I would feel sluggish/tired for about 2/3 days and then suddenly I would feel normal like before I started smoking. But now things have changed a lot. I've been smoking pure skunk from a pipe straight into my system without tobacco or any filtering system. I did this for a couple of years til the point where I was only smoking because my body craved it, not because I wanted to get high. So I decided to quit, but now it's been 2 months and I woke up feeling stoned, like when you smoke weed and you're body feels really heavy and you just want to lay down all day. It's hard to describe the feeling, the best way is that it feels like I have weights all over my body and they are trying to pull me down all the time. When I wake up I just want to go back to sleep. I've been reading a lot of articles online that say I should take vitamins which I am doing, drinking plenty of water which I'm doing and do a lot of excersising which I'm trying to do such as running, walking, for about 2 hours a day but I am just feeling worse. Struggling to sleep isn't making things easier. Does anyone know what is happening to me and how long I will experience this feeling? I've got no problem with quitting cold turkey I just want to go back to feeling normal again.

Maybe it has to do nothing with weed. Sounds like a mild phase of depression, which will likely pass. Try something new, break your routine, and smoke if you feel like it.
Quitting would naturally make you lazier and less motivated, because marijuana creates a chemical in the brain which produces a happy high feeling. Your brain has to get used to doing it all in its own again. You could also try just slowing down and not quitting entirely.

It is normal to feel that way. If you quit and that is what you want to do then stick with it. Your body will adjust. It just takes time

What is the best way of getting my brain to have that happy feeling again without using cananbis? I've gone cold turkey and it's staying that way, I just want the constant feeling of fatigue and now the heavy feeling of constantly being sick and wanting to throw up to go away. I just want to go back to feeling normal again.

It should take some time for your body to get used to the change. Don't start smoking again. You'll be much happier without it. Just wait for your body to adjust.
