It feels weird when something is out of the ordinary

So basically I have a mental disorder called Depresonalisation and Derealization. Due to that it changes my perception on things. So I don't know what things are normal and what are not.
But when something is out of the ordinary it feels weird. Like for example if I have friend sleeping over. My room doesn't feel the same and it feels like the person changes the whole atmosphere and intrudes my personal space.
Another thing was few years ago when I used to live with my mother. I used to sleep last most of the time so if she went to sleep last I would have trouble sleeping. Like I had to be sleeping last not her. It's weird it happens with most things that are out of the ordinary. School trips as well had the same effect back in the day. I remember just wanting to come back home because everything felt weird. Like it just felt different I wanted to come back to a place I recgonise. I wouldn't be scared just uncomfortable and weird. Is it normal ?

  • Considering you have a mental illness that causes these feelings, no, it's not normal.

That's not derealisation nor depersonalisation. Were you actually diagnosed?
Most people feel like things are different when things are different.
