Isnt it a little redundant to put threads in moderation after so long?

I've noticed it with a bunch of my threads

The threads get posted. People comment on them. There are about 20-30 comments in the space of many hours. And then the thread gets hidden after 12-48 hours of being posted because it is "in moderation status."

IIN? Is It Nonsensical?

    Happens all the time with LGBT discussion.

    I think it gets put there after someone reports it. The mods then decide if the post gets deleted. Though mine sometimes have to go through moderation right away. I just delete those posts because it's a waste of time waiting for them to be moderated.
