Is this what autistic people do?

I have a friend who does this and its super annoying. You tell them one thing and they accept it as that. If you clarify the information when they understand they just kind of ignore it and keep asserting the first thing you said.

So they a lot of times will say people are lying or contradicting themselves. Since they do not listen to the entire explanation of what it means. Like you can say Too to and two. So you explain two means something different in every sentence. Yet they will say that TWO is suppose to be used in every sentence, since that is how you spell two and the only way you can spell two even if you tell them something different.

Depends on the person. I don't think that's symptomatic of autism, and having autism myself, I don't usually do that.

Some people are more visual learners than they are auditory learners . If you were to speak to me face to face i most likely wouldn't understand your point unless it was done in something I can visually see .most likely they have an auditory processing disorder where they can't actually process what your saying effectively its embarrassing for them to have to ask someone to repeat what they're saying the x amount of times until they can process it fully without being told their stupid, retarded or autistic. I know because I'm that person.

Hey look one of my friends has autism but he is less screwed up than half the people I know who don't have autism. It's the person, not the condition. Stubbornness comes in all shapes and sizes

    • You think they are just stubborn, and misunderstanding on purpose than? Not that they have a cognitive issue?

I don't think you understand autism. It's not the same for everyone.

    • No, Neurological issues are not my specialty. I usually deal with crazy, not this kind of stuff.

  • Most autistic people will know the difference between to, too and two, but they may take things literally which becomes confusing when someone says something and later contridicts the statement because which one is the lie?

Yeah...you'd think they'd get it...it's like there's something wrong with them.
