Is this water weight i've lost?

So I have the flu and I'm crazy, yes because I'm on Is it Normal while I have a 102.5 fever.

Anyway, people who I know have told me they lost 6+ pounds while sick for a week. I've been sick 5 days now and am down 4 pounds. When I say this to them, the same people who told me two times that they lost and kept off weight after being sick, they tell me I'll gain it back and that it's just water weight.

How is it water weight if I'm still only drinking 3 cups of liquid a day? I know this is bad but I never drink much liquids even when I'm not sick and I drink even less when sick. I know I've only had 500-700 calories for the past 5 days as I'm not hungry/can't taste anything.

So is this truly water weight or is this real weight?

No, it's real 9
Yes, it's water weight 15

It seems to me like it is real since you drank alot of water and only ate 500-700 calories.
People tend to lose appetite while having a flu/cold and it takes your body alot of energy to get well so this is why you might have lost some weight.
