Is this type of eugenics normal to dream of

Im talking bout fining someone for having more than 2 kids, or maybe even mandating sterilisation after the 2nd child, this way, some people will make 2 kids and thatll be fine since therell be a same ammount of offspring as the 2 mates, some will make one and some will make none, which will cut down on overpopulation, in turn cutting down on pollution, as we dont need as much goods/materials, also cuts down on poverty as therell be twice as much of everything for everyone if the population halfs. And i mean this strictly in a global manner, not just a select few states or regions.

So what you're trying to say is that you want a world-wide China-like two child policy that will end up leading to an inevitable reduction of the population over time, even though the world still hasn't been overpopulated. Also, halving the population halves production, resulting in the same amount of poverty as that that existed in the first place.

There'd be less production but the resources availible would be the same.

      More people could sustain themselves.

How could more people sustain themselves when there are fewer people than before?

I mean more of a percentage of the population could live off the land cause there'd be more space

However, there would be less of a population to live off the land, making that a pointless change.

I appreciate your thinking about the kind of issues related to population - world resources - quality of life - etc.

I too spent a lot of time thinking about these kinds of approaches and how they would play out in the various societies in the world - and in fact at one point thought along the same exact lines of a 2 child per couple limit was right.

However, the more I looked at the consequences of such a policy on various societies, the more I became convinced that such a ridged policy would produce more harm than good.

There are in fact many examples in multiple cultures with more children where the family is successful and all (or the vast majority) of the children are productive members of society. I myself have 7 brothers and children. 7 of the 8 children became long term productive contributing members of society.

In the end I have come to believe that the real solution is not population control; but, change in government and culture standards to encourage self reliance, self determination, personal charity for the poor, and support people getting ahead themselves (and not being dependent on the government or some company for their long term livelihood and retirement). Successful people tend to naturally control population within their means to support.

Unfortunately, it appears to me that most governments in the world want their citizens to be dependent on them or perhaps the company who employs them. Most (not all) modern welfare programs encourage people to stay on welfare - and within the USA multi-generational welfare. This is reflected by the common believe in the USA by the many of the young that "someone" owes them at least a reasonable life without much real effort or struggle on their part.

At one point my family was on welfare. - I know how seductive the monthly support is. Fortunately; my parents morally hatted it - and made it clear to us kids that welfare and government programs were the last resort when all else failed - that we were expected to stay off of it, and work hard to get off of it if we ended up there. This was a "moral" standard we were taught.

I do not feel that eugenics has a place in a civilized society that is functioning well. Of course such a society provides lots of help and support for people to be able to adequately support themselves, except for the very few who have truly limited capabilities.

Please think about the effects on everyone is all the various societies in the world should there be hard fixed eugenics rules. That disrupts many cultural teachings - which have generally negative impacts.

At the same time - I applaud you for starting to think of how do we solve the various world issues due to overpopulation and unchecked birth rates among some. It took me perhaps a decade of research and consideration of various effect to fully think it through to my current understanding.

It’d stop lazy people and immigrants coming over here to get shit tons of benefits from the government with their 8 kids

People who have that many kids piss me off. I really wouldnt mind less people having kids

Yeah I think it's a very sensible idea. It'd also reduce the wealth gap since poorer people usually have more kids, which means each succeeding generation has a higher ratio of poor people to rich people.
