is it normal if you have a best friend who is a male and your female and you hug and cuddle one another but as a close friends. We just want to be friends but we hug and so for. And if I am cold or feeling down he gives me his jumper or hugs me or rubs my back. Or I hug him or rub his back if he is cold or feeling down. Where like best friends he is like an older brother to me. I am 21 and he is 28. We also say I love you but as like a best friends and like brother and sister way.

Please don’t use anything like dating or sex or to kiss we don’t want to in any kind of way.

Is this normal?

    If given the chance he'd bang you in a heartbeat. I have attractive female friends that I'm huggy with and some aren't and Im never like that with them.

    He is like that with you because he finds you attractive and if you said or went further than what you're doing he definately wouldn't stop you.

    Ya he is hardcore friendzoned like shuggy said, no guy likes being like that knowing he's not getting any so he accepts what he can get.

      That's just a biological urge though, and if you've ever had a really close friend of the opposite sex, eventually you look at her like a sister and any sexual urges become irrelevant, any sexual urges are simply biological, it doesn't mean he doesn't love her as a close friend and is the main reason he's friends with her.

      Granted, I know it can be conflicting, wanting to be best friends with someone and having sexual urges, I know that can be difficult, but it can be overcome for the sake of the friendship. However, the larger threat would be sexual partners being ignorant and not wanting them to spend time together... I think that's the larger illness in our society, the obsession to sexualize everything.

      I have the same situation with a friend of mine, and i can honestly say i would not bang her if she presented herself for me naked and willing.

    Thank you. Im totally excited. Older generation not to thrilled with it. They say i should put my brother as bestman cause of tradition and my best friend as a bridesmaid. Blah! She is totally thrilled because she gets to pic any gown of her choice. ha ha in 9 months i will marry the love of my life. =)

    Perfectly normal. I do the exact same thing with my best friend. We share a bed at times and fall asleep cuddling. Nothing sexual. My fiance knows this and she is ok with it because my best friend has been there for 4 yrs and my fiance only 1 1/2 yrs. Ha ha my wedding i will have a best gal and not a best man. ha ha

    Sure, I had best friend like that, of the same sex though, and 2 other close friends but only 1 close enough where we would often sleep together (not sex) and were really close. Nothing better in the world to me than a tight hug from a best friend you haven't seen in a while.

    I think it's beautiful for two people to be so close and have nothing to do with sex but genuinely just cares for each other. It's often very rare to even see it in cinema let alone real life... I think it's sad that people who've never experienced what a real truly close connection is with someone that isn't based on sex often will shun it and obviously not understand it, to me a relationship based on sexual desire just seems mediocre in comparison to a relationship where you literally feel like a soul separated at birth.

    I've dealt with ignorance from people though, thinking we were gay guys and ignorance from his mother not wanting us to sleep in the same bed together. It's difficult to just have a best friend it seems in this prudish country thats obsessed with sexualizing everything.

    I have to say this may put me of if I was in a relationship with someone who's best friend was the op sex you would feel like the third wheel at times when in a relationship that person should be your best and closest friend yeah?

    But yeah is normal

    I lived that situation many times, but most of them went bad because of the girls :/ I think it's normal to hug and do other stuff between friends!

    We are just heaps close we are very happy to remain friends we don’t want to fuck up a friendship we both want to remain friends. we care for one another and love one another as friends and like brother and sister.
