It's increasingly common. However it's a fairly pointless attraction, as the characters do not exist, and somewhat insidious in terms of the ideals of attraction and relationship roles that the characters in amine frequently portray as normal. As In many other fictional genres, love is some mystical life altering force similar to destiny, not somethig that is built, that requires effort and attention to maintain, that can break or fade away. Characters are horribly one dimensional and deal with the absurd world around them via stupidly simplistic views of power, justice, and romance. So understand that being attracted to an illustration isn't odd or abnormal, that's why the illustration was made actually, but it does bring a lot of ideological baggage with it and you would be better served by expending your emotional and sexual energies upon a real girl or guy.
