Is this normal, or am i wrong?

I was just wondering, because I don't know what to think about this topic...

I'm incredibly loyal to my boyfriend for a year now, and will always be, and would never do anything to hurt him. We plan on spending forever with eachother but there's just one thing we've had a problem with and that's his jealousy problem.
He can be jealous of nearly anything that relates to the opposite sex, and we've been working really hard on this, but sometimes even if i compliment a girl's appearance or something, he'll probably get jealous about that too.

When i was 14 i met a guy named wyatt in a petshop petting bunnies with my family and he became our little family friend. after we met we added eachother on facebook (Strictly friends never anything else) and never talked to eachother again for years until he messaged me one day while i'm with my boyfriend just asking how things are and talking about his life.

At one point, days later, he said i was "super hot" for being a gamer girl and mentioned something about wishing he could be with me, and wishing there was someone near him "like me that he could be with and make memories with," not noticing i had a picture of me and my boyfriend as my profile picture. I had no problem with my boyfriend over my shoulder reading these messages and turned him down kinda hard, but i never deleted or blocked him. after that i just kinda was giving him life lessons about finding a girl nstuff. I felt like deleting him would be too harsh or something. maybe i'm stupid, naive or too nice. After that we just barely talk except for the rare times he messages me to say hi and talk about his new job nstuff, so its really nothing too big. I just kindly say hi, tell him im good, and wish him luck and don't say much else.

my boyfriend is wondering why i still have him added, but i just dont like deleting people unless they're like harassing me or something like that. I just dont wanna delete mostly because i dont want my boyfriend to have anymore control over me than he already has. I want to be able to make my own decisions whether or not i want to delete one of my friends or not, and not have him dictate who i should and shouldn't be friends with because he can be a bit controlling and i don't like it most times.

but on the other hand i understand why he would want me to delete him, i just don't want wyatt to feel sad that one of his friends just suddenly unfriended him just for saying he liked me. I obviously would never feel the same way back, in a million years, but..

what do you guys think?
