Is this normal? i'm so confused.

I have liked the same guy since fourth grade.....and I'll be a senior in high school next week.... I know. pathetic.

I can't believe I'm actually submitting this for other people to read/comment on, but I literally have no idea what to do.

We went to the same school, but don't anymore. We have mutual friends, but somehow, I barely EVER see him anywhere!! I just want to at least talk to him, and see what happens! I facebook messaged him once last year, but it didn't last too long. I just feel like randomly messaging him is so obvious - and I don't know what to say! I feel like eight years of liking someone (at my age especially) HAS to mean SOMETHING. Right??! please help?!

If you hardly ever see him then try to realise everything you think that is great about him is not real. You've fabricated an image of what you want over time, and projected it onto him.

My husband had the same problem when we were growing up. He liked me since the third grade, but didn't work up the courage to ask until our senior year. He finally expressed his feelings, and I couldn't be happier. We have been married for 6 years now. Give it a shot - you always regret what might have been.

  • I have the same issue. And what I did was asked him for his cell number and said oh we should chill soon :) and it's been working cause we've gotten to be closer friends

  • You will regret not asking him if you don't do it. Every experience in life teaches you a lesson. Go for it!

Since fourth grade! and how many more years do you exactly need to have the courage to tell him that you like him???

What the worst that could happen, he'd say sorry I'm not interested? Imagine the relief. But if he say yes, imagine the fun you've been missing.

Danny's advice is very goood. Go for it girl!

Hmmmmm, what I would do and try and get in contact with the mutual friends and try to sort something out. With the not knowing what to say, plan ahead with things you could talk about eg: His hobbies, his interests, what his plans are for the future etc etc. If he is a normal nice guy, he'll be stoked if a girl comes up and starts talking to him :-) Best of luck
