Is this normal for a long distance relationship?

It's not that long distance, we're in the same state, except for a few school breaks where I was in a different part of the country. We usually see each other about once a month, and our visits are usually short, no more than two days, three at the max. I feel like he doesn't care about keeping up with me, is usually too busy to text much, and doesn't ever want to skype more than once a week. He says its because he's so busy with film school, but I feel like he could make a bigger effort if he so desired. He's bad at filling in the blanks of all our time spent apart, which leaves me constantly trying to figure out whats new with him. He never asks whats new with me, but is politely attentive whenever I tell him something new.

One of his best friends is one of my ex best friends, and "because they live closer to each other" than we do, they wind up doing a lot of stuff together that we've never done. Like she took him out for his first legal drink, and he even has photobooth pictures of them on his wall. I try not to be jealous, but it makes me sad.

I can't tell if these are just aspects of his personality, or if he just doesn't care about me anymore. I don't want to play the jealous girlfriend who's needy for attention card, but I don't even see why we're together. I just feel like his monthly cum receptacle.

And of course it makes you sad, the time he should be interacting with you and hes making you feel like shes getting the attention you feel deservedly should be yours. Dump him and go your own way. The best way to get over someone is to get under someone else. Keep an open mind in case you meet a guy that might be a crossdresser. (I am)

Aww thank you so much for your encouraging and kind feedback! Truth be told I forgot about this post (I made it like 4 years ago), and you're right, it was an unhealthy relationship. He was immature, and I was immature then too. I'm now as happy as can be with the most amazing man who makes me feel like the salt of the earth. He's not much of a cross dresser, but he did wear my jeans once for a Halloween costume ;) Cheers!

Well I am a guy and knowing how alot of younger guys think, i really feel your last sentence sums it up. Guys are not the lovee-dovee sorts, unless they are the exception to the rule. When not with the one they claim to love, they really good about "love the one they are with". You say your in college but no mention of ages. If I could get you to remember anything it would be this "Someone can only do to you what you allow them to." Im saying if you feel hes screwing around on you, then LISTEN to your female intuition. If your ex bf is hanging out with him msybe she has enough hard feelings that she wants to "hurt you" by stealing your bf. I would say tell him to take a hike, he telling you what you wsnt to hear. But his lack of details on whats new or what hes doing- then more than likely hes filling her and her time and her vajayjay with all he can. Try calling other friends and see if they can tell you anything hes not telling you. But bottom line guys and LDR go over like a herd of turtles. Younger guys just want to have sex with whoever will lay down with them. Dump him until he proves different or till you meet a guy a bit older more mature to treat you right.
