Is this normal for a girl ?

My sister has a huge fear of cars. She's been scared of getting into an accident she or her family never have but she knows people who had. One of her friends friend was killed in an accident a few years ago. There was an accident yesterday that involved two kids and they're mother they are fine but they never said what happened. She's afraid of them because she and her school went to the university before graduation to watch videos of what happened if you drink or text while driving she didn't want to go but she had no choice because she was at school it traumatized her now ever time she hears of an accident she has vision of her and her mom being in an accident her crawling out of the car screaming and crying for her mom and seeing blood everywhere. Since she and her class saw those videos she's been this way also she watches those every 15 minutes of it on YouTube also scares her. She decided she's never gonna drive. I don't know if it's normal for her to have these visions I told her she should ask her doctor but she's scared to tell anyone I'm the only one who knows about it she broke down crying in my arms after she told me. She's still kind of upset. Is it normal for her to have these kind of visions in her head ? She wants to know how she can stop them ? How can I help her feel better ?

Alright this is perfectly normal, it's just being especially afraid of something, like I could be especially afraid of spiders et cetera. But I guess your sister's phobia kind of interrupts normal daily activities when you guys have to drive around, understandably. But I think this kind of fear can easily be treated (worst case scenario, with a psychologist) or by just explaining and talking to her about why she's so scared. And well it isn't TERRIBLY BAD that she has this phobia; car accidents are common and she is sorta safer like this. Another thing you could do is to stop letting her watch those videos, if she wants to stop those visions why is she still constantly putting them in her mind?

This amounts to a phobia and she does need to get some professional help with it, not necessarily a doctor because she'll probably come out with a medication script.

A counsellor would be a better idea: school counsellor maybe?

Yes yes. And if she would really require any medicines councellor will suggest to see a doctor.
I am joining a driving school I may have classes on weekends.

What part of that that tl;dr wall of text had anything to do with the person in question being female? You could have left it genderless and asked the exact same question and nothing would have changed except it would seem less sexist.
