Is this normal? anyone?

Ok before I tell you this, I'm not trying to be offensive to anyone with this issue, but I absolutly HATE autistic, retarded, mentally unstable people. And the fact that people have patience for them really pisses me off to a level I cannot describe. When I mean "autistic" I mean the ones that either can't talk, or you cam hear their agonizing shrieks from a mile away, or they scream at you of you don't someone doesn't give up their swing at a park. Added to that, the ones with no self control whatsoever pretty much irk me. I mean, why do these people give them special priveledges, If most of them don't have any idea what the hell is going on most of the time. When I was younger, if you didn't give up your swing to someone with " special needs" then you would get in trouble. Why can't they wait like everyone else? Are they that special, that they get everything within the blink of an eye? I guess what fueled this hate towards these particular people is that specificlly. And what also irritates me, is those overly protective people that accompany them, saying that they don't know any better etc. That's because you never shown them what's good and what's not. So in the end, these people get whatever they want when it comes with hanging out with people that can actually mentally function in public. I mean I met some pretty interesting people, that I never noticed that they had a mental problem, I just assumed they had there own way of interpreting things. So why do they make it known that someone is autistic? Unless it's THAT bad, I don't care! Please comment.

i think its normal depending on the level of anger... i have worked w/ special needs kids... i never treated them differently other than giving them a little more help and patience... they had to wait in turn like everyone else... i hated when at lunch they were excorted to the front of the line but to be honest they didnt care about waiting in line infact sometimes they like it it makes them feel more normal... i was told this bit by one of y students because i wouldnt let him go up with the rest... it tends to happen because the ppl watching them dont want to wait they get special treatment because its easier for the person taking care of them like the whole swing thing the person doesnt want to deal with them throughing a fit like kids sometimes normally do when they dont get there way the special treatment happens because people dont want to deal with them not because they are trying to be extra nice... i think if you wanted to give up the swing to be nice to them and show them friendship which everyone needs then yes but you shouldnt feel obligated to by any means

i have to say that i cant stand them, they are so ignorant and i really dont care if they cant help it. there is one in my grade (9th) he is autistic but still able to learn.. kind of, so he is allowed in 9th. he is socially awkward and follows people around even tho no one likes him. he has no sense of personal hygeine either.. its digusting. and the other day he told me " you need to stop being so emo all the time" ... i dont care he is retarted, i yelled at him "SHUT THE HELL UP" and his retarted grin sundenly fell to a frown >=]

Eva_Braun88 I love how you say they don't have lives it's the same shit everyday... Seriously please let me knw your schedule, because I wake up get my child ready for school, go to work, come home, have play time, cook/eat dinner, get child ready for bed say prayers read book, and go to bed... Same stuff everyday...90% of Americans have a similar schedule so are we all the mentally challenged ones? Grow up.. For the poster, many people become very uncomfortable when around mentally/physically challenged people, sadly it's because they don't know how to respond or interact with these humans.. It's normal to be uncomfortable but they are people who just help. You are blessed to be healthy and I really hope one day you don't get hurt and become paralyzed bc then u will understand the need to depend/ need help and compassion from others... To all the posters who keep posting they should die, you all would be part of Hilter's crew in WWII, learn your history, it wasn't just Jews that were put/killed in concentration camps, it was gays, differnt ethnicities ( that didn't look like the "Arian" race) and YES you guessed it mentally challeged/handicap people... So congrats to all the posters who posted they shouldn't live.. Go put on a swastica and wear it publically, I'm sure the response in the general public will be fabulous!

I salute you. Autism is usually a serious problem, if you had the love of a stranger I would kiss you (note to self, to play with people you have to ask first). Autism is simpler than you can imagine: it's my problem, I'll deal with it.
Of all the "evil" in the world I hope this confused and disturbed non-autistic person is an atheist, I can understand him better that way because atheist ethics are different. I think with my private thought that s/he has the mental problem: it's not the fact of being diagnosed, it's the feelings s/he can't understand s/he has because of being scared of humiliation. It's rather odd that a normal person isn't happy, only a pleasure-seeker can truly understand that you must relax despite being autistic, whether yourself or the second or third person. If you're the parent of an autistic person, then perhaps you get his or her culture: emo, hippie, epicurean, Buddhist, sunglass boy/girl, whatever, I don't think being "normal" solves the problem. The problem with autism is simply superstitious: unlucky people. I tried superstition, am I the only one who understands? Superstition melts the autistic problem away: i.e, bad things and hate and blame won't happen. It's rather strange to understand that an autistic person is a special, thus perfect person who was never loved for being a clown (a painted funnyman). The feelings toward autistic people, hating and angry, are irrational and emotional. I can't play dice with a parent, but through my experience the solving of an autistic problem is not the cure, but taking up a cult of Dionysus: the result is the sources of pleasure, and you (the autistic person) have fruition, enjoyment, party and drink wine, you'll never be hated or irritate people or be cursed again, a Dionysan is the cure for emotional or behaviour problems, seriously, all you need to do is eat grapes, have exquisite happiness, sex, enjoyment, etc etc, salvation, and wear a grapevine on your head and a dead lynx (a sacred animal) around your neck, and dress to look narcissistic, people love fun-doers who love to party, and no psychiatry is going to help, it has to be pleasure from spirituality.

Yes that is normal, for the most part i have only negative feelings for them bc I resent the fact that our society celebrates their deformity (physical or mental) and promotes their existance. Even my girl who can is very feminine and emotional says she'd abort a retarded/deformed "special" baby. Oh and nice name and number Eva ;) agree with all your comments so far too

  • If I had a retarded child I wouldn't keep it, simple as that. And as for if it were me, no, I would not want to live the shitty lives that they live. Because most of them don't lead lives it's always the same shit all the time.

Not normal. You should be thanking your lucky stars that is not you or someone you live. Or one of your kids one day.

  • I would have to agree. Retards technically shouldn't be allowed to live. I mean come on keeping them alive is pointless because ur right, half of them have no goddamn idea what's going on anyways. It's a waste of taxpayer money and a waste of space. And a lot of them really don't have self control and are downright hands on. I don't know about you, bit I don't appreciate being felt up by a retard. Not to mention having them around children is such a bad idea and horrible parenting to those that expose children to retards all the time. They aren't trustworthy and to me are a little too interested in chdren.

I'm all for euthanizing them, not for cruelty, but rather to end the suffering both them and their families have to endure. In addition, I think eugenics should be practiced.

Special needs kids are taught to be polite, take turns, etc. I worked for special needs kids and they are expected to be disciplined like normal kids; however, they do have modified and accomidated learning activities according to their level of learning. You are not educated about this stuff obviously.

I don't get it, we're put in the world and we need to change our own lives and you look ridiculous because you can't stand autistic people. Get a life! Try a true religion, even agnosticism, and calm the fuck down, you're twisted and confused. You can't call someone stupid just because it seems autistic to you, it's subjective: autism doesn't exist, and normal people don't exist, only pleasure exists, that means autistic people are good, and I won't help you because you can't understand, well, I'll help you to take pleasure in autistic people and never badmouth them: they're soft, and the religious autistics are sentimental and have compassion. I'm autistic, so what? Is it a crime? I still have human rights: the right to hear only nice things, the right to do what I want, the right to waste my life on money, luxuries and pleasure, the right to live in a normal house. I took up Dionysus, it solved the problem: a feeling of ecstasy, when you have exquisite happiness, however I partially took a model from Hedonismbot on "Futurama", would he care if you're autistic? Hedonismbot has a conversation, and doesn't care about problems or your way of life, he's happy and calm of all people and people can talk to him, calm despite the negative consequences. An epicurean or hedonist is calm despite the circumstances, because they have pleasure, they can enjoy talking to autistic people; if all else fails choose a real deal religion: if it's your answer to getting a life and never hating anyone, if it stops you from using the "retard" label as an excuse to bully autistic people, if it's a subjective answer to your happiness, then you should have pleasure so you can only enjoy life to the extreme, i.e., you like autistic people, you don't hate or get irritated, you tried a way of life to help with a good feeling: if it feels too good, it activates a desire not to harm people, not even autistic people. Cheers!

Somebody needs to take a class and learn why people are autistic and how their brain actually works. Ignorance feeds hatred, stop feeding it.

Just be grateful that you don't have this problem, nor your parents for that matter.

There are compassionate people in this world to take care of them so you don't have to. Just give them the same respect you would give anyone else. (However it doesn't seem you do this very well) I'm sorry your swing was taken away from you but seriously, get over it.

Let's put it this way: What if you were one of those people? Even if you had no idea what was going on, don't you think you would want someone to help you try to live as normal of a life as you possibly could? You act like "special" people aren't even real people at all. Sure, I'm creeped out by them and I have some autistic older men in my neighborhood, but as long as they can breath they are just as human as everyone else.

  • It's not normal to feel that much anger about something like this. People with those sorts of handicaps need to be looked after and given the same amount of respect as any other human being does.

But on the other hand I don't think it automatically means they should get everything they want.

But honestly calm down. There are so many more and worse issues that you could get fired up about...

Yes, and it's a tough one to admit. I think that the passion is a result of being taught that they are special and you're a heartless, cruel hearted SOB for thinking such things. Lots to build up there. I share in the same dislike. Just focus on those qualities in others that you do like.
