Is this manic depression??

Most of the time I feel "normal" however several times a week I will feel like everything's great about life and I want to eat healthy, be nice to people etc. Other times (usually not as often) I will hit an absolute downer, be convinced the world's an awful place and even contemplate suicide.. ok re-reading that sounds a bit too dramatic :L.
I know this might be normal as I'm a teenager, it just doesn't seem like your regular "put it down to hormones" thing. It doesn't seem like manic depression either so I don't know what to think! Is this normal?

It's called being a teenager, being bipolar is A LOT different.

First of all it's no longer called manic depression because it was seen to be insulting, it's now known as Bi-polar. I think it could be normal seeing as you are a teenager with hormones but if you are worried it doesnt hurt to see someone about it.

Teenager or not - people all have different characters they play in their lives depending on the social circumstance, blood sugar. You know.

I, for one, am not a counselor or a psychologist....and even if I were, I wouldn't be able to diagnose you over the internet from something you wrote. But I can say one thing. If you are having the kind of deep mood swings that you explain in your story, then I think you MUST go to someone who can figure out what is going on with you. Try a counselor, your family doctor.....you need to tell someone about this and let them figure out if you need help. Do not ignore this stuff!

I don't know, being a teenager with raging hormones can mess you up, and really make you wonder what's going on in your brain. From the little info you gave, I'd say, you're probably ok, but, maybe check out a website called daily strength. There may be people on there more experienced and able to help you.
