Is this legal?

Me and my friend took this old sign which was no longer in use, it was just lying on the floor (it's the sign with 2 lines, 1 straight 1 curved). And I want to know if it is legal or not.. it was abandoned but are there still laws for that kind-of thing? She's nailed the sign onto her wall.

It's probably illegal. I took a "fire exit" sign from my work because it fell. *shrugs* don't care if it is

everyone i know steals signs, even ones in use, although in their defence it is a drunken sport. main point: everyone does it

Wait... What kind of sign is it? I don't get much detail from a straight line and a curvy line.

It's fine. Technically illegal but who cares?

Well it is illegal to take it. Because by law it belongs to the state. But it's not
Like any cop is gunna see it nailed to her wall or any cop that I know would arrest somebody for something so minor. So I wouldn't worry about it.
